Corte Madera seamlessly blends small-town charm with big-brand convenience like few places can. The community's Old Town Square with boutique shops and towering palm trees give it a relaxed feel. Start your day with breakfast at the beloved Lighthouse Café and wander through Old Town Corte Madera. After a grounding session at METTA Yoga, grab lunch at local favorite Burmatown for a day of community, calm, and incredible flavor.
From there, stroll through the expansive town park with Mount Tamalpais towering above you or bike along the Corte Madera Creek Path. Framed by coastal marshlands, rolling hills, and sweeping views of Mount Tam, Corte Madera is as scenic as it is serene; and it's almost always bathed in sunshine, even when other parts of Marin sit under a layer of fog.
And with two beautifully manicured outdoor malls, shopping here is a given. At the Town Center, Arhaus, Marine Layer, and Sephora make it easy to lose a leisurely afternoon. Across the 101, The Village offers up Restoration Hardware, Pottery Barn, Nordstrom, and ALO, amongst many others.
Despite the predominance of big brand shopping, the town's outdoorsy spirit runs deep…hiking, biking, and spontaneous picnics are part of daily life. Corte Madera is understated Marin at its finest: relaxed and effortlessly scenic. A place where mountain, waterways, and modern living meet in perfect balance.
There are two distinct ways to live here: in the hills or in the flats, and each offers its own advantages. Like the rest of Marin there is a good mix of architectural styles and even climates. Though on the whole you are guaranteed more sun and warmer weather than Sausalito and Mill Valley which experience more of the fog throughout the year.
